I'll Make You Happy
(Vander/Young)
Originally recorded: The Easybeats

I'll make you happy (just like your mamma wants)
I'll make you happy (just like your daddy said)
I'll make you happy just like your mamma said to me

If, if you, if you don't, if you don't think.
If you don't think i'm your man
Find somebody if you can
And get them to hold your hand, not me.

I'll make you happy (just like your mamma wants)
I'll make you happy (just like your daddy said)
I'll make you happy just like your mamma said to me

I, I'll give, I'll give you, I'll give you love.
I'll give you loving all the time.
Give you kisses just like wine
Does his lips taste sweeter than mine?

I'll make you happy (just like your mamma wants)
I'll make you happy (just like your daddy said)
I'll make you happy just like your mamma said to me

Brief History on the Easybeats: Their 1966 release "Friday On My Mind" was one of the great expressions of teenage frustration, but The Easybeats would prove to be unable to translate the success of that record into a sustainable career.

All sons of Europen immigrants to Australia, the group was formed in 1963 and by '65 with a similar repertoire to that of the British groups they had established themselves as easily Australia's leading group. Their Australian hits included "She's So Fine", "Sad And Lonely And Blue" and "In My Book" before they took the decision to move to the UK in 1966 to work with producer Shel Talmy in an attempt to crack the international market. Talmy, who had also worked with The Kinks and The Who, cut the Vanda/Young composition Friday On My Mind" - the group's only international hit.

In search of repeating their success, and under the guidance of the adventurous team of Vanda and Young, they recorded in a variety of different styles including soul, psychedelia and ballads, but none of their efforts met with much success and The Easybeats folded in 1969.

I'll Make You Happy was the B-side of the single "Too Much" which was a number 1 single on the Australian Charts for 3 weeks.

You am I has covered this song, it is the B-side on their Good Mornin' single and they perform it live in concert. (They also covered Friday on My Mind)

This is the one cover song on the cd shock/denial/anger/acceptance.  Rick opened up his concerts with this song on the 2004 s/d/a/a/ tour and through the middle of 2006, when he started opening with a new song - Who Killed Rock n Roll.
