SHE'S ALRIGHT
(words and music by Terry Britten)
I only know that there's something about you
You turn me on when I'm in and around you
I can't understand
Why nobody told you
That you're alright
Alright
You give me love anytime that I want it
I turn around you've already responded
Can't understand
Why nobody told you
That you're alright
Alright
I've got something and you've got something
And we've got something that's here to stay
Realizing that there's no surviving
Without a life full of love
Love
She's the girl that is one in a lifetime
And pretty soon I'll be making it wifetime
Can't understand
Why nobody told her that she's alright
Alright
I've got something and you've got something
And we've got something that's here to stay
Realizing that there's no surviving without a life full of love
Love
I only know that there's something about you
That turns me on when I am in and around you
Can't understand
Why nobody told you
You're alright
Yeah, you're alright
Alright
Yes you're alright

According to US
The minute this one starts, all I can think of is the Beach Boys. Not that I don't LIKE the Beach Boys…but it seems very out-of-place here. It's just strange to me to hear something like "Hey Pinky," and then in the next minute (on random play) to hear "She's Alright." In fact, this one almost has a Beatles/Beach Boys sound. Not a great combination!!! Separately that type of sound would be fine, but it's like a mixture of the two. A mixture I don't really care much for.
He's basically telling this girl that she's "alright," that he "digs" her. He doesn't understand why no one else saw it in her. The sentiment is sweet, as are most of the non-Rick Zoot songs, but I am not crazy about the music here. In fact, if I heard it more than once in a row…I'd probably run screaming for the remote!!! LOL Daryl's voice just annoys me a bit in this song, especially the way he drags out "allll---allll--right." Ok, there's not much more I can say about this song. It just doesn't go very deep for me, and the music doesn't move me at all, so that pretty much sums it up.
