This episode opens with a voice over from Mick.. the boys are off to the "Carolinas" and Mick calls the Atlantic ocean his Mistress. (hearing him say that word intrigued me) They are driving an older model rented Mustang on a remote private island that (naturally) Gordon sent them to. Mick is wearing tight jeans, and a god-awful crazy shirt. Let's not even talk about hair, I give up. They are to escort a Mrs. Margo Hart to the Courthouse in the morning. (Chantal Craig..the future Mrs. Bisson -who looks mightily different from her appearance in the earlier episode The Runaways.) As they enter her motel room, they see that the place is a mess. Joey makes a crack about the maid service, but Mick is concerned. They take a look around and find Margo hiding in the closet. She is terrified and says, "I thought you were one of them." She explains that "them" would be men working for her soon-to-be ex-husband Charles Hart. She explains that she has been hiding from him for 6 months. They ask her why she is so afraid of him, and she states that he would rather see her dead than with someone else. She refers to Gordon as "Uncle Gordon" and Mick & Joey explain they work for him. They devise a plan to sneak her out the back window. We see someone watching through binoculars. They call Gordon, who has Fritz set them up at the Hyatt Regency. Mick leaves Joey in charge of Margo to go speak with Charles. Margo paces the hotel room and Joey decides to take her windsurfing. Meanwhile Mick & Charles are having a talk about the divorce proceedings. Charles assumes that Mick is Margo's new boyfriend and Mick doesn't correct him. He explains that Margo is "psycho" and that he is the one who actually filed for divorce. He tells Mick to pull the court documents from public record if he doesn't believe him. Joey & Margo have fun windsurfing. Margo decides to take off her wedding ring and wants to throw it in the ocean. Joey talks her out of it. Meanwhile, Mick has gone to the courthouse and is now on the phone with Gordon. He tells Gordon that Margo is "looney tunes" and that he & Joey are leaving. Gordon insists that they should stay to at least finish what they were sent to do - escort her to court. Joey & Margo return to the hotel, where Margo breaks down crying on Joey's shoulder. She & Joey share a kiss and then some more. Joey leaves so she can shower. As she walks into the bathroom and turns on the water she turns around and screams. Joey hears her screaming in the hallway and races back into the room. He is hit on the head from behind. Mick returns and finds Joey unconscious on the floor. He rouses him, and asks what happened. Margo is missing. Mick thinks that Margo has staged the whole "thing" and explains to Joey what he has learned. Joey doesn't believe a word Mick tells him and they argue. Mick suddenly is struck by a thought, "I leave you alone with a woman for a couple of hours and you fall for her?" Joey convinces Mick that Margo was really frightened. Mick (who has changed into some short-shorts (either that or swim trunks) and deck shoes (I don't know why I kept noticing the shoes, but I did..must've been the lack of socks) and Joey go to see Charles, who is not concerned about Margo's disappearance. He thinks it's an 11th hour attempt to win him back. As he leaves the boys, two men in a dark car show up. They flash FBI badges and ask Mick & Joey to follow them. They tell the brothers that Margo has been entered into the Witness Protection Program at her request. Joey doesn't understand why he was hit on the back of the head, they insist it was for his protection. He says, "Do me a favor. Don't protect me anymore, it hurts too much." They explain that Charles is a mob attorney and that they need Margo to testify. It is explained that they were the ones stalking her.

Mick & Joey go back to the hotel and Charles is there waiting for them. He has had a change of heart about Margo and wants to now pay them to find her. He hands them a signed blank check, and tells them to not tell Margo they are now working for him as he doesn't want to mislead her. After Charles leaves Mick wants to go back to L.A. and not get in-between the mob & the FBI. They decide to go back to talk to the FBI agents, but when they return to the office where they met, it is empty. The agents were fake. Fritz then confirms that there is no FBI involvement in this case and Charles does not have mob ties. Gordon insists that Mick & Joey must find Margo. Mick & Joey set out to trail Charles. They find him visiting a boat anchored near the island. The boat leaves and Joey panics that he is getting away. The boys commandeer a nearby speed boat from two ladies in bikinis telling them they are FBI. They catch up to the boat at a smaller remote island. Joey then asks, "Now what?" Mick says, "Stop saying now what!" Joey replies, "Okay, what now?" Charles has Margo in the house, she is passed out on the bed dressed in a red gown. Joey distracts the guard they happen upon by making him chase him. Mick then trips the guy and knocks him out. They make their way up and into the house where they are stopped by two more guards with guns. Charles then appears, and Mick says, "Good news. We're pretty sure we found your wife." They ask what in the heck is going on. Charles insists that he took Margo to apologize and to tell her she is getting what she wants. Mick asks him why do all this if he was the one who filed for divorce? (I agreed) He tells the boys they are going on a little boat trip. He says to Mick, "Tell your brother not to get involved with another man's wife." Charles tells Margo who is now awake, that she is free to leave. She asks why she was brought there and he says it was to apologize to her in person. He gets her a drink of her favorite champagne and pours a powder into it as he turns his back. He offers up a toast to their marriage, and she drinks. Mick & Joey are tied up on a boat that is rigged to explode. They manage to bail out of the boat before the boom, and swim back to the island. Margo realizes she has been drugged. Charles tells her that Joey is dead. She passes out on the floor. Mick & Joey are making their way through the various guards. Mick does some Tae Kwon Do moves with one, while Joey is wrestling with a guy twice his size. Joey picks up a brass vase and conks the man on the head, while Mick finally kicks his fighting partner to the ground. He mutters, "A little tougher than I thought." before getting up to run into the house. Charles has Margo lying on the bed again now, where she starts struggling. He has a syringe in his hand and tells her that people will think she has overdosed. Joey runs into the room and grabs Charles by the throat and starts choking him. Margo is screaming and Mick runs in and pulls Joey off and then knocks Charles out. After the commercial, Joey & Margo are walking next to a pond. She thanks Joey for his help and decides to pitch her wedding ring into the water. They decide to go windsurfing. Mick is on the beach talking to Gordon on the phone. He explains they wrapped up the case and checked back into the Hyatt for another week on him. When Gordon starts to protest, Mick throws the phone on a towel and sets off to do his own windsurfing with 3 ladies in bikinis. * This was the most confusing, non-storyline episode ever I think. I really didn't care about the characters and at about halfway through figured Charles & Margo deserved each other. I actually rewound it a few times thinking I was missing something as I just didn't see the point of all the back & forth with the Charles character. Why did he hire Mick & Joey to find Margo, then try to kill them when they did... why not just kill them back at the Hyatt? The actor playing Charles wasn't a convincing psycho either, if that's where he was supposed to be going with this character. Why drug Margo, wake her up to drug her again, to inject her with a drug to make it look like she overdosed? Don't even get me started on the wardrobe... Mick's shorts were at least 2-3 inches shorter than Joey's. Margo had a wet suit that fit her just perfectly when they windsurfed. Her hair was cute too. * - Michelle P.

Ahhh, the opening scene in which Rick is narrating is great! He is discussing *my* part of the world! Mick is talking about the Atlantic Ocean and the Carolinas. He says, "There's something about the Carolinas. I've always loved those hot, sticky southern nights. And if the Pacific is my first love, then the Atlantic's my mistress. With her gentle rolling swells. Not a bad spot for a wave rat like me." So the guys head to the Carolina Keys. As usual Gordon has sent the brothers off on a mission. They arrive at a motel where Gordon's "friend" is laying low. What a NICE shot of Mick walking around the back of the Mustang and walking to the door when they get to the motel!! {tight blue jeans alert for the female fans!} The girl who plays Margo in this episode looks like the same actress from a few other season one stories. She has been hiding from her crazy husband for 6 months. He is angry because she wants a divorce and he's stalking her, or so she says. ("Stalked") She calls Gordon "Uncle Gordon" because her father and Gordon used to work together. The guys have to sneak her out a window, luggage and all. Mick is looking like "Joe Cool" here, despite the really loud flowered shirt (the jeans make up for it! LOL) as he props on the Mustang and calls Gordon. He tells Gordon the room Margo was in was trashed. It's kind of obvious from the start that Margo and Joey are attracted to each other. Mick leaves Joey to watch after Margo while he tries to find Margo's ex-husband. Against Mick's orders for the two to stay put, they have a little date on the beach and later exchange a kiss (or two!) Joey cracks me up when he's leaving her room. He's so flustered by her that he turns to leave and rams into the door, smacking himself in the face. After he leaves, someone abducts Margo and then whacks Joey over the head. I love the scene where Mick finds Hart in a restaurant. This is a good Mick scene in my opinion. Not only does he look awesome here, but he's quite convincing as he `bullies' Hart for information. They have a drink and Mick confronts him about whether or not he's stalking Margo and out to kill her. Charles (Hart) tells Mick that Margo is in fact crazy---a "loony tune." Charles gives Mick the number for the file for his and Margo's divorce case so Mick can learn for himself what Margo has been up to. He finds she is the suspicious one. Mick arrives and finds Joey back at the motel and he's been knocked out. After Joey has come around, Mick begins pointing the finger at Margo saying that he thinks Margo is doing this herself. Of course Joey refuses to believe she is setting this whole thing up. He confesses that he and Margo left the motel. Mick is cute when he tells Joey, "I leave you alone with a woman for a couple of hours and you FALL for her?!" Joey believes Margo. Rick says, "why? Because blue eyes like that only tell the truth?" LOL Charles tells the guys that Margo is still crazy for him and that she's doing all of this because she wants him back. Turns out that Margo is not actual `missing.' She is with the witness protection agency. They tell the Barrett brothers that Charles is with the mob, and Joey accuses the guys at the agency of being the ones actually "stalking" Margo because they're want info on Charles. How convenient! In one scene while Mick and Joey are arguing and watching Charles get away in his boat (Joey can't believe Mick didn't have a `plan'), two beach babes pull up (out in the middle of nowhere, mind you) and the men borrow their boat. The chase after Charles. They find him and spy on him. I like when they are in the bushes and Joey asks Mick, "Now what?" Mick tells him to stop saying that and so Joey says, "ok…what now?" LOL

Margo has been captured by Charles. Naturally the brothers go in to `save her.' But to their surprise Charles catches them and holds them at gunpoint. They have a gunpoint confrontation with Charles and his men. It was funny (in a `sick' way!) to watch Mick and Joey squirm! Charles lies to Margo and tells her he is letting her go, but as they talk he has his back turned to her and pours two glasses of champagne! He `spikes' Margo's drink. She looks at the glass, suspecting it's laced. He is talking smoothly to her and assures her it's okay. Meanwhile Charles' `men' have taken Mick and Joey to the place of their demise. The brothers have been tied inside a boat with a gas can and a burning wick. The speedboat has been set on auto and is speeding out to sea. A pretty funny part is when Mick kind of rolls over towards the can and begins blowing on the wick! Mick and Joey never cease to amaze me! They roll out of the boat just in time before the boat explodes. Another funny line is when the guys are trying to untie their hands under water. They're making all kinds of cute wisecracks as they struggle to get loose. Joey tells Mick he learned a good trick from "the girl in leather." Mick unties himself first and tells Joey that she taught him some tricks too. When the guys get back to the house where Margo is being held, they have to fight off a few `thugs' along the way. The fight scenes are actually some of the more comical parts of this show, and it appears they are intended to be funny. Joey is punching with all his strength at a rather large man and it's like hitting solid steel! He finally grabs a gold `vase' and whacks the dude in the face/head, sending him sinking to the ground. The look on the man's face is hysterical. Rick was funny too, out on the lawn fighting a guy. He's taunting the man the whole time! Charles is laying a drugged Margo on the bed, talking nonsense to her about how she'll never leave him. He is just about to inject her with poison when Joey bursts in and saves her, with Mick not far behind. High Tide always seems to be about `saving the girl!' The ending scene is cute! Mick is on the phone with Gordon explaining how Gordon owes some girls a boat, since it got blown up, and it's going to run about $25,000! Fritz is there with Gordon putting a golf ball and obviously finding it funny that Gordon will have to pay up! Gordon goes off into a rant and Mick pulls one of his usual, but funny, stunts. He tosses the phone to the side while Gordon jabbers away on the other end. Surrounding Mick are 3 girls. (Hey, do I blame them?!) Mick and the girls are preparing a sailboat. Mick tells the girls "let's go sailing ladies!" This was a good episode of High Tide, but it's not one of the most `memorable' stories of season one in my opinion. I wonder if I'd enjoy this series as much as I do if Rick were not the star of the show? I'm guessing not. Rick is a `show-stealer' in my opinion! - Kelley Pearson
