Is it any surprise that my husband thought this episode of High Tide had nice `scenery`?! It's full of strip club scenes and half naked women grinding on stage. Then at one point, it's ladies night at the club and we have a cowboy-looking muscle guy doing the stripping! LOL! The name of this episode---The Grind---fit's the setting in which so much of it takes place.

The first scene starts out with a young woman who is obviously in some kind of trouble or danger. She splits open a mattress with a knife to expose wads of money. She is frantically packing up a suitcase and then we see her stuffing money in the bag as well. A man with a gun is lurking within the house. She sneaks up behind him, whacking him over the head. She makes a `run for it.'

Can I just say that I LOVE when there are scenes of Mick right after he `wakes up?!' He strolls out into the kitchen shirtless and in what appears to be dark gray boxer type underwear. NICE! As if that's not cool enough…he proceeds out to the balcony of his apartment where we get a nice full view of him with `no' clothes. :-P

A man approaches the guys with a picture of his missing daughter, Sandra Peck. He asks the guys if they'll take the case. Mick is reluctant to get involved since Bob-O is a part of it. But Mick (in his narration) says that he couldn't resist this girl…"There was something about her eyes." (Yeah Mick…there usually IS something `in the eyes.' There's something about his eyes too!)

The guys are running around with a picture of Sandra asking people if they've seen her. In the one scene on the beach we see a very young Mark Ruffalo (Hollywood actor) who is playing a swimsuit model photographer. He is a cocky guy who doesn't want to give the Barrett brothers the time of day. They finally bribe some info out of him.

The brothers go into the Volcano Club---strip joint---in hopes of finding the missing girl. Aren't they always looking for the girl? They watch a few strippers before spotting Sandra up on stage. I like Joey's line at the club when they realize that Vicky the Vamp, the blonde stripper they're watching, is actually Sandra Peck. She's doing a sexy dance on stage and Mick is going on again about her eyes. (As IF he was looking at her eyes! Ok Mick…whatever you say! LOL ) Joey tells Mick it'll be hard to tell her dad that she went from "honor roll to nothing on her."

Mick ends up learning from Sandra that she doesn't want her father to find her. She is afraid the man who's after her will kill her dad, like he did his `business partner' Brian. The guy who's chasing Sandra is named Harry. The money Sandra is hiding was `printed' by Harry & Brian. Brian wanted a bigger cut on the business, but when Harry wouldn't give it to him, he stole one of Harry's printing plates. Sandra has it now ("for bargaining power") and says she's hidden it `practically in plain sight.' Mick convinces Sandra to meet with her dad and explain to him why she's hiding. The guy who came after Sandra the night Brian was murdered appears and Mick and Sandra outrun him.
Bob-O tells Sandra, Mick and Joey that Mr. Peck is at his motel and waiting to see Sandra. She takes off with Bob-O to go talk with her dad. But as it turns out…"Mr. Peck" is not the real Mr. Peck. Mick and Joey find out and go to her rescue. They find Bob-O tied up at the room, but no Sandra. Bob-O begins to explain to the guys what happened, when out of the closet comes the man with the gun who's been chasing Sandra. Apparently no one here is who they seem to be! He is a federal agent who's working on the case.

It's so distracting at times trying to follow the stories on High Tide when you have a hottie like Mick in nearly every scene. And Rick looks awesome in all blue. He's wearing a blue T-shirt with a lighter blue shirt over it and a great pair of blue jeans. Oh yes…the wardrobes for Mick and Joey are MUCH improved with season 2.

Probably my favorite scene is when Mick and Joey are out by the marina trying to figure out a way to get into the volcano club that night. It's ladies night and they know that men are not allowed in. It's cute how Mick & Joey toss around ideas. Mick says how they could go in like they work there. Joey asks him, "What do you wanna be? Bartenders? What?" Mick asks him, "Do you know how to make a screaming orgasm?" Joey replies with, "Well, that's kind of personal." Mick gets a funny expression and says, "It's a drink. A bartender would know that." OK…so he's no bartender. Joey teases Mick about his age and how he could go in for ladies night wearing some `nice tall leather boots.` LOL! Mick ends up convincing Joey to go in as a male stripper for the night. Joey is embarrassed by the thought. Mick tells him, "Don't think of it as stripping. Think of it as taking your clothes off in a room full of screaming, adoring, dollar bill waving women." (Rick should know something about rooms full of screaming, adoring women…minus the dollar bills and him being `naked!` Hahaha ) Joey tells Mick, "I'll do it for Sandra…but I still think it bites." LOL!

Sandra sees Harry lurking around in the bar during the male stripping and she calls the police. Joey is onstage strutting his stuff while Mick bursts in and goes into his master fighting tactics, kicking Harry's butt. I thought it was adorable when the crowd cheers for Mick. He smiles and takes a bow! As it turns out, Sandra hid the money-printing piece behind the sign ("Bucks") for the men's room at the Volcano Club.

I thought the ending with Bob-O and his secretary was quite funny! He's excited by some winnings from the race track when the feds arrive to arrest him for using counterfeit money for his gambling. LOL! I thought it pretty much served him right. They seize his money, cuff him and haul him off. All the while his secretary is casually filing her nails and looking like she could care less.

Sandra thanks the guys for helping her get out of trouble. She's leaving on a plane to see her dad. Joey hits Sandra up for a date in the future & she tells him "I'd love to." She kisses Mick on the cheek, then plants a lip-lock on Joey before she leaves them. Mick says, "I think she likes you…without stating the obvious." Joey tells Mick, "She's just trying to make you jealous!"

I thought this was a decent episode, but it doesn't rank in my top favorite stories thus far.  - Kelley Pearson
