Joan Van Ark

A native of New York and the second youngest person to graduate from Yale School of Drama, Joan Van Ark has starred along side our Man Rick in two TV movies. Before starring and producing along with Rick in "In the Shadows Someone Is Watching" in 1993, she spent a year in Washington, DC at the Arena stage and 13 season as Valene Ewing on Dallas and its spin off Knots Landing. She went on to act, produce and direct many projects for TV. Most recently she was seen with Rick in 1998 playing Vice President Lane in "Loyal Opposition Terror in the White House".

What was your very first impression of Rick?

Tall, sexy, lanky.

What is your biggest daily challenge?

Getting it all done.

Have you seen Rick in EFX in Las Vegas?

No. I wish! 

Favorite Rick Springfield song?

"Jessie's Girl" and "One World - One Spirit", the one he wrote for a TV movie we did together. 

9/11/01 -- How has it changed you and the things you do?

Always say how you feel (Express LOVE). Do it now! And no eye makeup on airline flights (no more tweezers, scissors allowed!)

An interior decorator-designer. 

Do you have any quotes you live by?

Don't think---just do it. (A variation of the Nike quote). In other words, don't over think it! 

Last CD you purchased?

"Songbird" by Eva Cassidy 

What motivates you? Frustrates you?

To do it better, get it right. Frustration? Not getting it right. 

Cup half empty or half full?

Truthfully . . . half empty.
